Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra recently opened up about her family's financial hardships while growing up in Ambala, Haryana. She shared that her parents struggled to raise three children, and at times, they couldn't even afford a birthday cake. Instead, her father would buy a single piece of rasgulla or rasmalai, which they would cut as a birthday tradition.

Parineeti’s Childhood Struggles and Fond Memories In an interview with Mashable Middle East, the Chamkila actress spoke about how difficult times shaped her upbringing. She recalled, "I’ve seen the struggle of my parents when they used to not have money to get a birthday cake for me. My dad used to go to the market and buy one piece of Rasgulla, just a piece, not a kilo, one piece of Rasgulla or Rasmalai, and we used to cut that Rasmalai like a birthday cake." Contrasting Experiences in Kenya with Her Grandparents Parineeti also spoke about how her childhood was marked by stark contrasts. While life in Ambala was modest, she experienced luxury during vacations with her maternal grandparents in Kenya. She said, "My grandparents, who used to live in Kenya, were very affluent. So I used to go from Ambala, where we had almost nothing, and I used to go and live this luxurious life for two months every year because I used to go for my summer vacations." Parineeti Chopra’s Upcoming Projects On the work front, Parineeti was last seen in Amar Singh Chamkila, directed by Imtiaz Ali, where she starred alongside Diljit Dosanjh. The film tells the true story of Punjab’s legendary musician, whose rise to fame was met with controversy, leading to his tragic assassination. Up next, she will be seen in Anurag Singh’s thriller Sanki, marking her first collaboration with Varun Dhawan. Additionally, Parineeti has Shiddat 2 in the pipeline and will be making her web series debut in a Netflix mystery thriller set in Shimla, co-starring Soni Razdan and Jennifer Winget.
