Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is on Zoya Akhtar’s wishlist of actors she wants to work with. Though he had appeared in Luck By Chance, she hasn't directed him in a full-fledged role though his daughter Suhana Khan will debut with Zoya’s film The Archies.
Now, 15 years later, Zoya admits she wants to work with SRK but it will happen at the right time. Speaking to News18, the filmmaker said, “Of course, I want to work with him! I don’t think there’s any director in this industry who wouldn’t want to work with Mr Shah Rukh Khan. But it has to be the right fit, the right film and the right role for someone like him. It will align when it aligns.”
Meanwhile, The Archies is an Indian adaptation of a Global IP, the iconic Archies Comics. The Archies, set in the 1960s in an Anglo-Indian community based in the fictional hill station town called Riverdale is a coming-of-age story that follows the lives of the town’s favourite set of teenagers- Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel and Dilton. The film explores friendship, freedom, love, heartbreak and rebellion.
The Archies is scheduled for global release on December 7, on Netflix. ALSO READ: Koffee With Karan 8 press conference: Karan Johar reveals why he didn’t invite Shah Rukh Khan on the show: “I didn’t want him to be in a dilemma where he would have to say ‘No’ to me”
