Katrina Kaif opens up about wedding and family life with Vicky Kaushal at Red Sea Film Festival; says, “We had to wait for the lockdowns to be lifted so that we could have a wedding”
In a candid conversation during the Red Sea Film Festival, Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif shared insights into her recent marriage to actor Vicky Kaushal, shedding light on the challenges they faced due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Kaif revealed that as they were planning their wedding, the world was gradually reopening, but pandemic-related restrictions necessitated a delay in their plans. Despite initial anxieties about adhering to safety guidelines, the couple successfully brought their families together for a joyous celebration.
Discussing the wedding planning amidst the pandemic, Katrina Kaif expressed, “We were trying to plan our wedding just as the world was opening up. Like many, many people, we had to wait for the lockdowns to be lifted so that we could have a wedding with all our families there and all that I was keeping my fingers crossed for was that my entire family had to be there from all the corners of the world which we managed. So that was wonderful.”
Katrina further delved into her upbringing during the event, reminiscing about being raised in a large family with six sisters. She humorously recalled the bustling atmosphere with six girls, acknowledging the inevitable skirmishes over mirror space, combs, and hairbrushes. Despite the occasional chaos, she highlighted the bonding experience of mastering the art of braiding each other's hair. Katrina emphasized the profound support system her sisters provided, stating, “My sisters became my support system. We are an insular unit that we don’t need anyone else. People are welcome but when we all are together, it feels complete.”
On the work front, Vicky Kaushal was last seen in Sam Bahadur. On the other hand, Katrina Kaif was recently seen in Tiger 3 alongside Salman Khan with the same production house. Both these actors have a bunch of projects in their pipeline. Katrina will be next seen in Vijay Sethupathi starrer Merry Christmas.
