Raveena Tandon's opens up on sharing past relationships with her daughters; says, “They might read something worse”
In a recent interview, renowned Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon candidly shared that she maintains an open book policy with her daughters, allowing them to be privy to all aspects of her life, including her past relationships. Raveena emphasized that her daughters are well-informed about her romantic history, as she believes that being forthright is essential in today's digital age.
Speaking with Lehren Retro, Raveena Tandon stated, “It's an open book for them [daughters]. If not today, tomorrow they will read about it somewhere and they might read something worse, because you know how the '90s press was. It was yellow journalism at its peak. They had no scruples, no morals, no integrity.”
The actress's decision to maintain transparency stems from her belief that it is better for her daughters to hear about her past relationships directly from her rather than discovering potentially sensationalized stories in the media. It's worth noting that Raveena Tandon was previously in a relationship with Akshay Kumar, nearly 25 years ago, and they were briefly engaged in the mid-nineties before parting ways.
During the interview, Raveena also delved into the evolution of the media landscape, particularly the impact of social media in today's era. She highlighted how celebrities in the ‘90s were often at the mercy of editors, with media outlets and publications controlling the narrative. Raveena noted, “Whose camp they [editors] were in or whom they [editors] were buttering up or which hero or heroine was buttering them up. They [editors] would only write about them [celebs], and their side of the story, without even waiting to find out what the truth was,”
For the unversed, Raveena Tandon is married to Anil Thadani and has two kids with the film distributor and entrepreneur. Her daughter Rasha Tandon is expected to make her Bollywood debut soon. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar is married to former actress turned author Twinkle Khanna and has two kids with her. Their son Aarav is currently studying abroad whereas they also have a 11-year-old daughter named Nitara.
