Actor Varun Dhawan made his debut with Karan Johar's Student Of The Year alongside Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra. His second film Main Tera Hero, which was directed by his father David Dhawan, has competed seven years. The actor is thankful for the opportunities and the love audience showered on a newcomer.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, April 4, Varun Dhawan shared images from the film featuring Ileana D'Cruz and Nargis Fakhri. He wrote, "MAIN TERA HERO. 7 years ago I was nervous as hell before the release of this film. I remember my numerous phone calls with @ektarkapoor who would give me a pep talk everyday. I had great co-actors like @ileana_official and @nargisfakhri making me feel like a hero and an amazing cast @sufisoul @anupampkher @rajpalofficial #saurabshukla #manojpawa helping me grow. Was such an honour to be directed my father david dhawan in my 2nd film. Above all audience ka pyaaar was the biggest boost a newcomer like me needed. In an Instagram Reel, Varun shared a dialogue from the movie and made a reference to the COVID-19 pandemic. The actor, who had also contracted COVID-19 a few months ago, wrote, "Main dekhta hoon sweet innocent swami type ka na lekin hoon bahut bade harami type ka."

Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan is currently shooting for Bhediya, a Maddock Films production with Kriti Sanon. The horror comedy will release on April 14, 2022.
